Battery Replacement

Battery replacement instructions are available for the following transponders: Type IIb, Type IIe, Type III.

Warning!! Do not attempt to remove the battery without the battery tool. Your transponder will not be replaced if damaged while removing the battery. For assistance, please visit your local RadioShack retail store. Note: This will open in a new browser window.

The SunPass Type IIe transponder uses a CR-2032 battery. It will need to be replaced when the transponder provides a low battery indication. The CR-2032 is a standard battery available at most retail stores.

The SunPass Type III transponder uses two AAA batteries. Be sure to keep the batteries fresh to avoid the possibility of a violation caused by the transponder not being read as you travel through SunPass Lanes.
