Vehicle Registration Stop

What is a Vehicle Registration Stop ?

A Registration Stop on a license plate prevents the vehicle owner from renewing their Vehicle Registration. The Registration Stop must be released prior to renewing the license plate registration. SunPass is not the only entity which places Registration Stops with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV); Registration Stops are often issued by other Florida toll agencies and by other governmental or private entities.

How to release a Vehicle Registration Stop?

Vehicle owners are required to pay all billed tolls, fees and fines that are owed to SunPass. Any Vehicle Registration Stop placed by other toll agencies and other governmental or private entities cannot be resolved through the SunPass customer service center.

To check whether SunPass has placed a Registration Stop on your vehicle, and the amount due, enter your License Plate Number and Last Name of the vehicle's registered owner below. The full amount due must be paid in order to release the Registration Hold.
